Gordon Brown, the prime minister of the United Kingdom, seeks a mutual relationship with President Barack Obama to make a global deal that would help the world out of its recession. Brown is scheduled to meet Obama on Tuesday and is also ready for a session with the Congress.

United States politicians criticize the plan saying that America's problems should be solved first before considering a global solution. Brown hopes to unite the two powers in the world in order to help the entire world.

Brown's idea in a way is derived from Franklin Roosevelt's plan on large scale spending that was used during the Great Depression in the 1930s to retract from the economic downfall. Brown wants "universal action to prevent the crisis spreading, to stimulate the global economy and to help reduce the severity and length of the global recession".
